Jerry Banfield Sells Friendship for $200 an Hour
Jerry Banfield is offering to be a 'friend' and listen to lonely people for $200 an hour, a service the hosts compared unfavorably to escort rates.
The hosts dissected Jerry Banfield's latest business model: charging $200 an hour to have 'deep heartfelt conversations' with people who have no one else to talk to. Jerry explicitly states in his vlog, 'Some of you might not have anybody you could talk that way with. So that's what I offer that's valuable.' The hosts were merciless in their analysis, with one noting, 'There are escorts who do things they do not want to do because they're with me. For $200 an hour, this guy will just like talk to you and listen and tell you about his problems on top of that.' They also pointed out the irony that Jerry won't speak to his own former sponsor, yet is marketing himself as a listening ear for the lonely. Adam offered a more psychological take, suggesting Jerry originally 'prayed on lonely people for money and it worked,' but over time 'has become that person that he used to steal money from.' He theorized that Jerry now genuinely needs someone to talk to and doesn't really care about the money anymore, having transformed into the very demographic he once exploited.
