Maniscalco Channel Fight Hits Steel Toe and a BeDabbler Clip
Vulture and TMZ reported comedians calling out SiriusXM's Maniscalco comedy channel. Steel Toe titled an episode around it. BeDabbler dropped a 'save Tookie's unfunny friends' clip.
The satellite-radio fight is outside the verse. The verse already grabbed it. Vulture reported on Oct 5 that comedians including Patton Oswalt, Michelle Wolf and Matthew Broussard posted about Sebastian Maniscalco's Comedy Radio replacing SiriusXM Raw Comedy, and about royalties they say working comics lost. Vulture attributed a Stand Up for Standup estimate that the active roster fell from about 812 acts in April to 275 in September, and named Jim Florentine among acts it said are no longer featured. Those roster and money figures are claims in that reporting, not a Dabbleverse audit. TMZ reported the same day that SiriusXM is defending the change. TMZ's sources described it as a programming review and a collaboration with Maniscalco, not as a ban. Dabbleverse has not seen a SiriusXM statement firsthand. Inside the verse, @AaronImholte posted at 22:54 UTC promoting Steel Toe Evening Show as 'COMEDIANS DECLARE WAR ON MANISCALCO! SiriusXM Fallout & BOMBSHELL Cornell Phone Call!' That title is the show's claim. The Cornell call was not independently checked. At 23:49 UTC @BeDabbler posted 'Please Save Tookie's Unfunny Friends Sebastian Maniscalco!' with a YouTube clip, tagging Zumock, Ray Devito, Maniscalco and SiriusXM. At check: 21 likes, 5 reposts, 1 quote, 2 replies, 851 views. Florentine is a tracked Dabbleverse name. Steel Toe and BeDabbler picking up the same night is why this is not just trade press.
