Nick Rekieta Compares His Minnesota Case to Karen Reed Trial, Alleges Judicial Bias
Rekieta says he hasn't seen treatment so unfair 'since a certain harassment restraining order case in Minnesota' where 'a judge blatantly treats one side completely differently than the other.'
Nick Rekieta drew a direct comparison between his own Minnesota harassment restraining order case and the Karen Reed trial, alleging that both featured blatant judicial bias against one side. While discussing the Karen Reed case and the reporting of Turtle Boy (Aiden Carney), Rekieta pivoted to his own legal troubles, stating: 'I haven't seen treatment so unfair since a certain harassment restraining order case in Minnesota in which a judge blatantly treats one side completely differently than the other.' Rekieta praised Turtle Boy (Aiden Carney) as the Massachusetts reporter who first broke open the Karen Reed story, crediting him with creating a 'tidal wave of support' after suggesting Canton police were attempting a frame job. Reed was eventually found not guilty. Rekieta used the case to argue that conspiracies and frame-ups do happen, just 'not the way people think that they do,' and compared the disparate treatment between prosecution and defense in Reed's trial to his own experience in Minnesota court.
