Nick Rekieta Reveals Prison Threat Over Drinking
Nick Rekieta disclosed he faces two years in prison if he drinks alcohol, saying his sobriety is not a personal choice but a legally enforced condition.
Nick Rekieta opened up about his current sobriety, revealing that it is not a voluntary lifestyle change but a legally mandated one. "I'm under rules. I can't do this. I cannot drink. I will go to prison for two years if I am drinking," he stated, making clear that his abstinence is enforced by the threat of incarceration rather than personal reform. Rekieta contrasted his situation with what he considers the ideal path to sobriety — personal choice. "I believe that the most effective way to sobriety in a meaningful way is by personal choice," he said, while acknowledging that "force sobriety can be effective, but it's hard to say if it's like genuine because you don't know — I'm under rules." He described the psychological toll of the arrangement, noting that he has had to cut out certain activities and venues associated with drinking, including a place called Eden, because of the liquor presence. "You have to cut those out. Those have to go or you're going to torture yourself because you're going to feel that psychological association," he explained. Rekieta admitted he doesn't know how he'll feel when the legal conditions end: "I have no idea how I'm going to feel at the end of it."
