Bob Levy

Also known as: The Reverend, Rev. Bob Levy, Reverend Bob, Rev Bob

Bob Levy was born on August 12, 1962, in Brooklyn, New York, and grew up in Great Kills on Staten Island. He dropped out of high school and worked as a landscaper, painter, and even a semi-professional wrestler under the ring name 'Heartbreaker' Bobby Slayer before finding his calling in comedy. In 1990, Levy began sending jokes and song parodies to The Howard Stern Show, then started attending open mic nights run by Stern's head writer Jackie Martling. Martling gave him the nickname 'The Reverend' -- an ironic title for one of the dirtiest comics on the circuit. Levy spent his first year doing stand-up without pay, grinding through the New York comedy scene. Levy's Stern Show career took off in 2002 when he entered the World's Meanest Listener contest, submitting clips of himself roasting Howard and the staff that made him a top-three finalist. He became a regular on-air presence and in 2004 competed in the 'Get John's Job' contest. When Stern moved to SiriusXM in 2006, Levy became the official host of the show's live comedy roasts -- brutal, no-holds-barred affairs that became fan favorites. He also co-created and co-hosted Miserable Men on Howard 101, a weekly comedy show that ran from 2006 to 2010, and headlined the Killers of Comedy tour alongside Jim Florentine, Beetlejuice, and The Iron Sheik. After his Stern Show era ended around 2010-2011, Levy continued hustling in stand-up and radio. He hosted Ears Wide Open on terrestrial radio in 2014, launched The Bob Levy Show podcast in 2015, wrote for Kidd Chris's morning show on WYSP in Philadelphia, and opened comedy club
