Bryan Johnson

Bryan Johnson (born December 7, 1967) is an American podcaster, actor, writer, and filmmaker from Highlands, New Jersey. A lifelong friend of Kevin Smith, Johnson was the real-life inspiration for Randal Graves in Clerks and played the recurring character Steve-Dave Pulasti across multiple View Askew films including Mallrats (1995), Dogma (1999), and Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001). He wrote and directed the dark comedy Vulgar (2000), based on the clown from the original View Askew Productions logo, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Since 2010, Johnson has co-hosted Tell 'Em Steve-Dave! (TESD), a massively popular podcast alongside Walt Flanagan and Brian "Q" Quinn of Impractical Jokers fame. The podcast spawned multiple Patreon-exclusive shows and built a devoted fanbase known as "TESD Town," with over 600 episodes released. From 2012 to 2018, Johnson co-starred on the AMC reality series Comic Book Men, set in Kevin Smith's Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash comic shop in Red Bank, New Jersey. He also co-created the comic book series Karney (2005), War of the Undead (2007), and Cryptozoic Man (2013) with Walt Flanagan. Johnson is known for his unfiltered, often controversial opinions on the podcast and has been open about his struggles with depression. He remains deeply embedded in the New Jersey comedy and podcasting scene.
