Chad Zumock

Chad Zumock is a stand-up comedian, podcaster, and former Cleveland radio personality whose career trajectory from legitimate comedy talent to Dabbleverse fixture represents one of the most thoroughly documented declines in the community. A Kent State graduate who moved to Los Angeles in 2005 and built real credentials -- opening for Dave Attell, Daniel Tosh, Nick Swardson, Jeff Ross, and Sarah Silverman -- Zumock appeared to be on the path to a sustainable comedy career. He returned to Cleveland to co-host The Alan Cox Show on WMMS, one of the most storied rock radio stations in America, giving him a platform most comedians would kill for. That platform evaporated in December 2012 when Zumock crashed his car into a tree in Lakewood, Ohio, was arrested for OVI (Ohio's DUI equivalent), and was promptly fired from WMMS for violating his contract. It was not his first alcohol-related arrest, and it would be far from his last. The WMMS firing marks the inflection point where Zumock's story shifts from 'comedian with a drinking problem' to 'drinking problem with a comedian attached.' What makes Zumock a compelling Dabbleverse subject is the gap between his self-mythology and his reality. He has claimed writing credits for SNL, inflated his opening act resume, and branded himself 'Florida's Greatest Comedian' with the same energy that Stuttering John calls himself a Tonight Show writ
