Chrissie Mayr
Also known as: Chrissie, Mayr, The Wet Spot Host, Chrissie from Compound
Chrissie Mayr's path to the Dabbleverse began in the New York City comedy trenches. Raised in Rockville Centre on Long Island by a German immigrant father who worked as a landscaper and a mother who served as a school secretary, Mayr's performing instincts showed early -- she took up competitive springboard diving at age 11 and pursued it through her years at Fairfield University in Connecticut on an athletic scholarship. During college, an internship at Late Night with Conan O'Brien ignited her passion for comedy and entertainment production. After graduating with a B.A. in Communication from Fairfield, Mayr threw herself into New York's comedy infrastructure. She trained extensively at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and Magnet Theater starting in 2005, building the improv fundamentals that would later inform her podcast hosting style. Her stand-up debut came in 2010 at Comix comedy club in downtown Manhattan, and she quickly became a fixture on the New York comedy circuit. The early comedy career produced legitimate mainstream credits. Mayr appeared on NBC's America's Got Talent, FOX's Laughs, FOX's Punchline, The Chris Gethard Show, The Wendy Williams Show, and Gotham Comedy Live. She produced and hosted Comedy at Stonewall, which became New York's longest-running LGBT comedy show -- a detail that complicates the simplistic political categorizations often applied to her. She was booking and producing shows at multiple NYC venues by 2016. The Compound Media era marked a significant pivot. Anthony Cumia's network gave Mayr a platform with The Wet Spot, a sex, dating,

Chrissie Mayr highlights
- NYC Comedy Foundation (2005-2016): Trained at Upright Citizens Brigade and Magnet Theater, debuted in stand-up at Comix in 2010, and built a legitimate New York comedy career with credits including America's Got Talent, FOX's Laughs, The Wendy Williams Show, and Gotham Comedy Live. - Compound Media Era (2018-Present): Joined Anthony Cumia's network as host of The Wet Spot, a Monday night relationship advice show. Became a regular on the Comedians of the Compound touring stand-up shows, performing alongside Cumia network talent. This connection pulled her into the Dabbleverse orbit through the network's heavy overlap with WATP personalities.
- The Chrissie Mayr Podcast Launch (2020-Present): Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic pivot away from live comedy, the podcast grew into a substantial independent platform with over 800 episodes. Dabbleverse-adjacent episodes featuring Karl Hamburger, Shuli Egar, and others serve as gathering points for the community, including the notable 'A Very Dabbler Christmas' special in December 2022.
- Friday Night Tights (2021-Present): Became a regular cast member and co-host on the Nerdrotic-hosted weekly pop culture panel, critiquing Hollywood trends and cultural shifts. This platform extends her reach well beyond the Dabbleverse into the Geeks + Gamers and Fandom Menace audience.
- The Chad Zumock Conflict (2022): Publicly accused Chad Zumock of stalking behavior, discussing the situation on her show. Notable because Mayr generally avoids sustained personal feuds, her handling of the situation -- addressing it directly but not letting it dominate her content -- demonstrated the professional restraint that distinguishes her from many Dabbleverse subjects.
