Kate Meaney
Also known as: Kate, Meaney, Kate Meaney
Kate Meaney (born August 14, 1999) is an actress and comedian, and the daughter of legendary stand-up comedian Kevin Meaney (1956-2016), known for his famous catchphrase 'That's not right!' She has appeared on various podcasts including Chrissie Mayr's Wet Spot (5 appearances in 2023) and the Rock Bottom Podcast. Her connection to the Dabbleverse began through her interactions with Stuttering John Melendez, which would spiral into a major controversy. In 2024, Kate became an unwitting central figure in the Dabbleverse when her private phone conversations with Stuttering John were secretly recorded and played at DabbleCon 2, a fan gathering in Rochester. According to reports, comedian Shuli Egar allegedly coerced Kate into recording the conversations by threatening to spread false rumors about a romantic relationship between her and John. The tapes revealed John's embarrassing behavior, including asking Kate to search her purse for his stolen phone and making unsolicited advances. This incident led to emergency podcast episodes on Who Are These Podcasts (WATP) discussing John's treatment of Kate and sparked legal action against Karl Hamburger and Shuli Egar. Despite being the daughter of a comedy legend, Kate found herself navigating the chaotic world of podcast drama and the Dabbleverse community, where her involvement with Stuttering John's mishaps elevated her to notoriety within this niche internet subculture.
