Perry Caravello
Also known as: Scary Perry, Perry, Stone Fury, Perry F. Caravello
Perry Frank Caravello was born on November 17, 1963, in Park Ridge, Illinois, and moved with his family to Southern California in 1974. At sixteen, three weeks after getting his driver's license, he was in a car accident that put him in a coma for three weeks and caused brain trauma -- a detail that adds a layer of uncomfortable context to everything that followed in his career. Caravello began doing standup comedy around 1988, performing in an aggressive style inspired by his idol Sam Kinison, which earned him the nickname 'Scary Perry.' His entry into the Los Angeles comedy scene came at The Comedy Store, where open mic host Don Barris challenged him to shave his own chest onstage with a razor and no soap. Perry did it without hesitation and was given a regular spot. This was the beginning of his relationship with Barris and Tony Barbieri (known as 'Mole'), who formed a trio called 'The Big Three.' From the start, the dynamic was clear: Barris and Barbieri set up elaborate scenarios, and Perry stumbled into them, oblivious to the joke. The Big Three's magnum opus was Windy City Heat, a 2003 Comedy Central movie directed by Bobcat Goldthwait and produced by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla through their Jackhole Productions company. The entire film was a prank on Perry, who believed he had been cast as the lead in a major motion picture called 'Windy City Heat' about a Chicago private detective named Stone Fury. In reality, every scene was staged to provoke reactions from Perry while he remained convinced he was giving a star-making performance. The movie culminated in a fake

Perry Caravello highlights
- The Big Three and Comedy Store Origins (1988-2002): Perry begins standup in the style of Sam Kinison, earning the nickname 'Scary Perry.' Don Barris challenges him to shave his chest onstage with no soap, launching both his comedy career and his role as the perpetual butt of Barris and Tony Barbieri's pranks. The trio becomes known as 'The Big Three' and spends years setting up elaborate scenarios at Perry's expense.
- Windy City Heat (2003): The crown jewel of The Big Three's work -- a full-length Comedy Central movie directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, produced by Jimmy Kimmel and Adam Carolla, and built entirely around pranking Perry. He believes he is starring as detective 'Stone Fury' in a major motion picture. Every scene is staged, every co-star is in on the joke, and Perry never catches on. The film becomes a cult classic and defines the rest of his career.
- The Mousetrap Lawsuit (2007): Perry sues Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Carolla, and Johnny Knoxville, alleging they promised him ten million dollars to put his genitals in a mousetrap on The Adam Carolla Show. The injury was real, the payment fictional. The lawsuit encapsulates Perry's entire career -- doing something insane for a promise that was never serious, then being genuinely shocked when it doesn't work out.
- Perry Caravello Live Launch (2020): Perry launches his Twitch and YouTube livestream, finding a new audience through chaotic broadcasts featuring troll donations, rage-filled confrontations with his publicist Tom Brennan, and paid stunts. The streams become Dabbleverse-adjacent content, providing clip fodder for commentary shows and reinforcing Perry's reputation as an unintentional content machine.
- Dabbleverse Crossover Era (2020-Present): Perry enters the broader Dabbleverse orbit through appearances on The Anthony Cumia Show, feuds with Stuttering John Melendez, and coverage on WATP and related shows. His delusional self-image and volatile livestream persona make him a natural fit in an ecosystem built around podcast personalities who lack self-awareness.
- Adult Swim and Legitimate Credits (2013-2025): Despite everything, Perry accumulates real acting credits on Adult Swim's Hot Package and Smiling Friends, plus a role in The Wild Western (2025). These scattered legitimate appearances sustain his belief that he is a working Hollywood actor and add an extra layer of complexity to the question of where the prank ends and the real career begins.
