Ron the Waiter

Also known as: Ron Berman, Ron the Liar

Ron Berman, known as Ron the Waiter, is an amateur comedian who first gained attention when Opie Radio and Carl Ruiz performed a Pop Up show at Pete's Tavern in New York, where Ron was working as a waiter. Opie invited Ron to appear on his podcast at Gebhard's Beer Culture, and Ron became a recurring guest on Opie Radio. Known for his strong New England accent and controversial comedic style, Ron became embedded in the Dabbleverse community through his connection to Opie and his willingness to engage in podcast drama. Ron's role in the Dabbleverse escalated when he became involved in tensions between former Opie and Anthony Show co-hosts. He claimed that Anthony Cumia had been DMing him, which sparked an on-air confrontation that sent Opie reeling. This revelation became a significant flashpoint in the ongoing feud between Opie and Anthony, with Ron positioned as an intermediary or instigator. As of 2023, Ron was no longer working at Pete's Tavern but continued his amateur comedy career and podcast appearances. While often described as wildly untalented and obnoxious by critics like WATP host Karl Hamburger, Ron has maintained his presence in the Dabbleverse ecosystem. He appeared at the Dabble House gathering in Florida in 2025, where WATP recorded a live episode.
